Australia's Next Top Designer - Melbourne 2025
We’re excited to share that Ocean’s Veil - a sculptural couture light installation - was selected as a Finalist in the Australia’s Next Top Designer competition, presented at the Melbourne Design Show in June 2025.
The piece was a collaborative work by Suzy Syme Art Couture and Tide Pool Designs - both co-founded and run by Suzy Syme and Andrew Costa. Bridging their shared backgrounds in architecture, sculpture, and fashion, the work continues their commitment to dissolving boundaries between creative disciplines.
Ocean’s Veil draws inspiration from the rhythm of the ocean - from the delicate movement of sea foam to the intricate structure of coral veils. It’s a luminous sculptural form that brings together light, movement, and texture in a way that feels both organic and ethereal.
Being recognised as a finalist in Australia’s Next Top Designer was an incredible honour, and we’re grateful to the organisers and the Melbourne Design Show for providing a platform that celebrates experimental and cross-disciplinary design.
